As the popularity of optical lenses continues to rise, there are many new and innovative methods being used in manufacturing these optical components. Many people believe that it is the coatings that give a chromatic lens its different correction qualities. While this is partially true, the other major components include mirrors, micro prisms, and filters.

One example of this is the use of mirror plates. Mirror plates are placed on the inside of the lens to focus the light that goes through the eyepieces.
